“Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8 (ESV)
It is one thing to fall into sin and another thing to make sinfulness an intentional habitual lifestyle. We may sin and walk away from sin, although in weakness fall back, but conviction leads us to repent, despite how many times we repeat it. Jesus came to give us freedom from the continual practice of sinning without repentance and hope in Him with a future Kingdom where sin won’t exist.
Let’s pray today that we may be quick to repent from sin and slow to return to it.
