Christmas in Revelation
“Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.” Revelation 12:10 (NIV)
Christmas is an annual reminder that the Kingdom of God is with us and Satan’s demise is in deliberative motion. Our Lord is working His gospel plan to bring salvation to all who would believe and live. He has been patient with humanity through the deceptive lies and accusations of the fallen angel, but soon the works of sin will cease and Jesus will reign over an eternal celebration.
Leaving the glory of Heaven for a fallen world was motivated by the unexplainable and unconditional love of God for His creation. Our Lord came the first time to satisfy the cost of our redemption, but the next time He comes it will be to claim us as His own.
Let’s pray today that this Christmas will remind those around us to look to the Savior for hope and life.
