Redemption from Judgement
“The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.” Exodus 12:13 (NIV)
The Passover still reminds us that without the shedding of blood there can be no redemption from judgement. The blood was not from the Israelite’s themselves, but from a perfect lamb who was the sacrifice and by nature of the very sacrifice it is salvation by grace through faith in the word of God. Saved from judgement by the blood of the Lamb.
Jesus is the perfect Lamb of God whose blood was shed for our sins that we may pass from death to life. Ours is a death that is due us because of willful sinning, but eternal life is gift of that is appropriated through faith in the blood shed by Jesus.
Let’s pray today that we may trust in the blood of the Lamb of God for salvation and from judgement.
